I never sort the beans. Do you know why you're supposed to? My mom sorted beans but Nathan said you don't have to. He knows more about cooking these days than I do but neither of us know why you sort the beans.
There can be dirt and rock-type grim in with the beans. I also pull out any of the odd shaped ones or fragmented ones. I bought another bag of them today and will sort/soak them tonight and cook them tomorrow....

Speaking of beans, I don't cook with them too often - mainly because I don't have good recipes. Any you'd care to share???
